Life at Medina

Ms. Melba Crocker decided on Christian Care Center of Medina after a recent hospitalization. Upon admission, she needed increased caregiver assistance and had an overall decline in daily functional activities.

Ms. Crocker was quick to adapt to new learning in order to return to a local Assisted Living Facility. She participated with skilled Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy services to aid in her rehabilitation success. Ms. Crocker stated, “It didn’t take me long to get back on my feet. Thank you all for helping me!” 

We enjoyed our time with Ms. Crocker and wish her the best as she leaves our facility and returns home! Thank you for allowing us to serve you.

 Christian Care Center of Medina hosted the Gibson County Medical Marketers meeting today.

We've kicked-off Nursing Home (National Skilled Nursing Care) Week '25 with a marching band and little karaoke from our residents!

Please welcome Donna Scott, our new Patient Liaison!

Donna has been a nurse for 12 years with experience in acute care, home health, long-term and skilled care as well as experience in care coordination, staffing and as an ADON.

Donna has been married to her husband for 22 years and has 4 children and one grandson. In her spare time, Donna enjoys traveling, attending football and baseball games, and spending time with family. 

Please welcome Tammy Bailey, our new Assistant Director of Nursing!

Tammy brings 26 years of nursing experience specializing in Med Surge, acute care, orthopedics, and oncology. 

She enjoys camping, horseback riding and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ms. Evie Meals admitted to Christian Care Center of Medina following a hospital stay. Upon admission, she presented with overall weakness, poor endurance, limited self-care independence and impaired mobility. As a result, she was unable to return to her Assisted Living facility. Under the care of our devoted therapy and nursing professionals, Ms. Meals advanced exponentially. She was dedicated to her rehabilitation program and blew us away with her commitment and enthusiasm to get stronger. 

When asked what her favorite thing about Christian Care Center of Medina was, she states, “The rehab girls that worked with me. They have been so kind to me!” 

We are so proud of Ms. Meals and her hard work! Please join us in congratulating her as she returns home to her assisted living facility!

2025 National Speech-Language-Hearing Month

Each May, National Speech-Language-Hearing Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) members in providing life-altering treatment.

This year’s observance is particularly special as 2025 marks ASHA’s Centennial, a rare and significant opportunity to showcase the vast impact of the professions on society—and how the work of audiologists and speech-language pathologists has evolved over a century. 

We would like to take the time to highlight our very own Speech and Language Pathologist, Marquesa McKinnie! 

Marquesa has served as our primary Speech and Language Pathologist for 3 years! We are thankful for her dedication and passion to her patients and the profession! 

Today, we want to take the time to congratulate Mr. Grant on his successful completion of our Outpatient Therapy Program! 

Following an inpatient stay with us, Mr. Grant returned for Outpatient Therapy services where he continued to work exceptionally hard both inside and outside of rehabilitation in order to achieve his prior level of function. Mr. Grant states, “Everyone here at Christian Care is super helpful and that makes it enjoyable to come.”

Mr. & Mrs. William Alvis celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on Friday, April 18th with a surprise luncheon.
